The Representation of Leon Trotsky and Napoleon in Animal Farm
In this book, “Animal Farm,” written by George Orwell was written to tie towards the 2nd world war. Who is George Orwell? Eric Arthur Blair, also known as George Orwell, was an English book writer. George Orwell was most famous for his novel Animal Farm. George Orwell was a rather happy and outgoing child. For so long he hated his name because it was constantly reminding him of this story called, “Eric, or Little by Little.” Throughout his life, he enjoyed doing so much in school, he even wrote and read stories about butterflies and caterpillars.
George Orwell began writing many novels when he was very young, went from learning in school to writing poems. When he was just about four years old, he had written his first poem. When Orwell reached the age of about 11, his first poem was then published in a local newspaper. Orwell had attended boarding school through many scholarships, after he finsihed school he had joined the india imperial Police Force for 5 years. Around 1936, George fought in the Spanish Civil War, while fighting, he was shot in the arm and near his throat. As soon as the war was over, George and his wife, Eileen Blair, had left Spain, so they didn’t have to face the charges brought against them. In his novel Animal Farm, the characters tie to those in real life. Animal farm was mainly based off the Russian Revolution carrying into world war II. HIs Characters Napoleon, Snowball, and squealer have similar traits as to those that have that role in real life.
Who was Napoleon? Napoleon in the book was not a good speaker, not as clever like Snowball cruel, brutal, selfish, devious, corrupt his ambition is for power, killed opponents used dogs, moses, and Squalor to control animals. Napoleon is just like Joseph Stalin. Joseph Stalin was a Former Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. He was born in Gori, Georgia. He wasn’t a very good speaker. He needed education like Trotsky. Just like napoleon, Stalin didn’t follow Marx’s ideas. He mainly cared for power, killing all that was against him. Stalin used KGB, allowed Church and progandinized. Stalin wasn’t an all good person. He used to be a good person, always cared for his people. Stalin then gained power and things went downhill. Stalin then began going against very many people. He even killed people that was against him. He very much disliked the jews. If he saw any jew and they didn’t obey his rules, they were killed. In the years following the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, Stalin rose to become the leader of the Soviet Union. After growing up in Georgia, Stalin conducted discreet activities for the Bolshevik Party for twelve years before the Russian Revolution of 1917.
When Stalin was twelve, he had the unfortunate experience of being run over by a horse-drawn carriage. His childhood was not an easy one to start with, as he was relentlessly beaten by his father in his early years. His accident required that extensive surgery be performed on his arm, the result of which was that his left arm was left significantly shorter than his right. In the long run, his accident actually saved his life. Stalin was considered unsuitable for military service and therefore was not sent to the front lines, which would have certainly resulted in his death, like so many other Russians.
Following the October Revolution of 1917, the three men, leon Trotsky, Lenin, and Stalin himself, became part of an informal group leading the new Bolshevik government. This group was completed by Yakov Sverdlov, though he died little more than a year later. When the government moved from Petrograd (formerly Saint Petersburg) to Moscow in March 1918 due to the ongoing world war, it based itself in the Kremlin. And it was there that all four men lived.
Getting to know Leon Trotsky was kind of hard. Leon was a russian soviet politician, born in Bereslavaka, Ukraine. He was the other leader of the “October” revloution or pure communism. He did in fact follow Marx, he even wanted to imrpove life for all in Russia. He was then chased away by lenin KGB (secret police). Leon Trotsky’s role in the novel, “Animal Farm,” was snowball. Snowball was a young smart good speaker. He really wanted to make life better for all people. He was one of the leaders of revolution, he was chased away into exile by Napoleon’s dogs. Napoleon would do anything to have his dogs attack other animals in the farm. Leon Trotsky and Joseph Stalin were political rivals. After Vladimir Lenin, the first Soviet head of state, suffered a stroke in early 1923, Trotsky and Stalin engaged in a contest for power. Stalin quickly gained the upper hand: in April 1923 he consolidated his hold on the Bolshevik Central Committee. Trotsky’s attempts to attack Stalin thereafter were largely unsuccessful. Still, the contest endured into the late 1920s. Stalin eventually emerged as its victor and gained virtual dictatorial control over the Soviet Union. Trotsky, on the other hand, was expelled from the Bolshevik Party (1927), exiled (1928), and banished from the territory of the Soviet Union (1929).
Leons Role in the october revolution was Leon Trotsky once a vocal critic of Lenin and the Bolshevik Party joined the Bolsheviks in August 1917. Trotsky quickly rose to a position of power in the party: just before the October Revolution, he was elected to the Bolshevik Central Committee. During the revolution, Trotsky oversaw Soviet military operations in Petrograd (now St. Petersburg), the capital of the RussianEmpire. By early November, Trotsky had all but sacked the capital city. On November 13, ousted liberal politician Aleksandr Kerensky tried to retake Petrograd with loyal troops. Kerensky’s forces met Trotsky’s at the Battle of Pulkovo. Trotsky defeated Kerensky, and the Bolsheviks achieved total control of Petrograd.
