“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”(understand) comes from the United States constitution. It has for the last decade or so been a topic of an ongoing debate between the people of this nation. It all depends on how you interpret the 27 words. Most people believe that it gives United States citizens the right to bear arms.
The constitution is the supreme law of our land. It was made to be are foundation and source of legal authority. It was adopted in September 17, 1787 in the name of the people. It was created to replace The Articles of Confederation. The country wanted to be united and not so divided. The Constitution is a set of rules for a government to go by. This document limits the reach of what the government can do.

…men who wrote the foundation of our government lived through a time when they had their rights taken away. They obviously did not like having their rights taken away. Why else would they go to war to be free from tyrant who controlled what they could do or not do? They believed so strongly in the rights we take for granted. Would you go to war for these rights like they did? Without the second amendment we have now we would not be able to fight a suppressive government.
The right to bare guns is an important right to have. Countries that don’t have freedoms are in a less happy state. Countries with freedom can enjoy a happier life with more benefits. Without people being able to stand up for what is write the Government can take control. “When governments fear people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.” Thomas Jefferson.(Beck35)
